SUNRAYSIA residents will be able to enjoy some of the region's finest produce and wines among the vineyards at the annual Dinner Under the Vines next month.
The event, which has been running for more than 20 years, is usually held on Labour Day weekend but has been brought forward a week this year to avoid clashing with other events.
It will be staged at Gareffa Vineyard, where local chefs will cook guests a delicious five-course dinner while raising money for local charities.
Renowned chef Stefano De Pieri said guests could expect a range of dishes cooked with local produce.
"On the menu there will be some yabbies, some local beef, a dessert with local mango, a lovely pasta dish, an interesting soup, beautiful bread and lots of drinks."
The meal will also include pre-dinner drinks courtesy of Fosseys, canapes and the famous zeppole prepared by Mrs Garreffa.
In the past, the event has fundraised for schools and the Slow Food organisation, while last year they raised funds for dementia accommodation, a cause which they will continue to support this year.
"It started out as a small event and it has gone through many incarnations," Mr De Pieri said.
"Last year and this year, we are raising money for dementia accommodation at Chaffey Aged Care in Merbein. through Care Villas Australia.
"There will be lots of prizes including a box at the football.
"It is a great community event, it is a fun night out, it is romantic under the grapes and there is plenty of fun to be had."
The dinner is at Garreffa's Vineyard on Belar Ave, on Saturday evening, from 6.30 pm, March 2.
Tickets are selling fast and are available through the box office at Mildura Arts Centre on 5018 8330.
