It came as Mildura recorded another 34 cases on Friday – more than any other regional area – taking the LGA's total active case count to 188. There were 2179 new locally acquired cases in Victoria on Friday and another six lives lost to COVID-19.

In NSW, there were 399 new cases and four deaths. Three of the new cases are in Dareton, which now has 21 active cases.
