COVID down 90 per cent
COVID-19 numbers in Victoria have fallen by just over 90 per cent in the past three months.

Victoria recorded 6860 new cases in the week to Friday, but numbers have fallen consistently since July 23, when the state recorded a peak of 71,428 cases.

Mildura has recorded 62 PCR and rapid antigen cases in the seven days to Friday's report and 59 cases were classed as active.

Wastewater and genomic testing show the BA.4/BA.5 Omicron sub-variants were the dominant strains in the state.

The number of people in hospitals is now at its lowest for 2022. There are were COVID-19 patients in intensive care in Victoria, three are on ventilators.

A total of 33 COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the past week and since July, more than 1200 COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded.
