DESPITE the enormity of Tuesday night’s dust storm, Mildura recorded very little damage, just a whole lot of red dirt.
Vehicles spilled out on to the street waiting their turn at local car wash businesses, which likely experienced their biggest trade in years yesterday morning.
The eerie storm, which swept across the region about 5pm and soon after plunged the city into darkness, caused chaos for those on their way home from work with very low visibility on local roads.
Mildura police said there were no major accidents reported, however local firefighters were kept busy, attending 13 jobs related to false alarms in less than an hour in Mildura, Red Cliffs and Merbein.
