MELBOURNE-based journalist and football writer Paul Daffey has almost finished a book on the history of the Mallee Football League, from its inception in 1910 to present day Ouyen United – a club in the Sunraysia Football Netball League (SFNL).
The book titled The Totem Poles of Ouyen – travels in country football is expected to be launched next month.
The foreword for the book has been written by former Tiega player Wayne Campbell, who played 297 games for Richmond, including a stint as captain. Campbell also won the Tigers’ best and fairest four times: 1996, 1997, 1999 and 2001.
