OUYEN United's Sam O'Shannessy has won the Rising Star award for round 8 of the SFNL seniors' competition.

The youngster was best on ground in the Kangas' 40-point win against Robinvale Euston at Underbool last Saturday.

O'Shannessy booted five goals in his return from Bendigo Pioneers' duties in the NAB League.
