THE fear of losing a child at any moment is a burden no parent should live with.
For Robinvale’s Dianne and Colin Hicks, that fear is an everyday reality as they longingly await a miracle for three-year-old granddaughter Taylor Savva who is in desperate need of a heart transplant.
Taylor spends her days in isolation at Ronald McDonald House in Melbourne, where she has been receiving palliative care from the Royal Children’s Hospital for the past two and a half years.
“The doctors still can’t believe how much fight is in her,” Ms Hicks said.
“Everyone who knows Taylor just adores her. She has that infectious kind of personality that people are just drawn to.”
