AFTER more than five decades of dedication to the sport and leadership of his local club, Doug Chalmers is celebrating 50 years as captain of the Robinvale Swan Hill Rifle Club.

His journey into the world of long-range target shooting began in his youth on a farm, where he learned the basics with a rifle in hand.
