THE Mildura Harness Racing Club has welcomed Harness Racing Victoria's decision to increase race field sizes to 10 runners a race from Thursday.

The club, which has a meeting Friday, said while field sizes were restricted to eight to protect the industry against the COVID-19 pandemic it meant more competition for race spots.
