IT was a day of swashbuckling fun on Thursday as Gyndarna Preschool in Dareton celebrated the end of term three at Mildura's Park for Play.
Educational leader Amanda Kenny said it had been tradition for three years to end the term with a pirate party, with children participating in pirate-themed games and dress-ups.
"This week, we've been making treasure maps, pirate hats, coins and treasures out of tinfoil and things like that," she said.
"The kids get really excited to dress up; it's something they've been talking about for weeks.
"We have kids from Mildura, Buronga and Dareton, so having the break-up at Park for Play gives the kids an opportunity to come over to Victoria."
Children celebrated their learning in the sunshine with a barbecue lunch, treasure hunt and games throughout the day.
