MORE than 5000 people in Sunraysia's seasonal harvest labour market are working illegally and one in five growers believes workers are being exploited, according to a probe into the horticulture industry released this week.

The Victorian Farmers' Federation survey showed the district was in need of 13,000 additional workers this season given the number of "undocumented" workers and the current demand.
