MILDURA'S riverfront precinct and CBD has received 17 new CCTV cameras as an enhanced safety measure.

Planning Minister Richard Wynne was in Mildura on Wednesday to inspect the $262,500 project, which has been delivered in partnership with Mildura Council to help police tackle crime.

The new cameras will help eliminate blind spots in the area's CCTV coverage.
