THE Murray-Darling Basin Plan is critical to the electorate and the government must “get it right,” Member for Mallee Anne Webster said in her maiden speech to Federal Parliament yesterday.
Dr Webster raised issues including rail, health care and water during her speech, highlighting significant challenges the Mallee faced due to its relatively small population spread across a vast area.
“Roads, rail and bridges are essential for productivity and community life,” she said.
