POLICE say they have returned a "significant" amount of stolen property to the rightful owners following a series of alleged burglaries and car thefts in Mildura.

Detectives from Mildura Crime Investigation Unit began an investigation after five vehicles were stolen from residential and commercial properties between July 10 and 14 which resulted in the arrest of two people.
