A SPATE of property damage by a homeless man that caused thousands of dollars worth of damage in Mildura's CBD was motivated by drug use, a court has been told.

The Mildura Magistrates' Court was this week told 31-year-old Matthew Levers smashed glass doors and windows of businesses and used a credit card stolen from one of the businesses to purchase cigarettes, alcohol and other items.
