A WOMAN has been sentenced on a series of property damage offences and for spitting in a police officer's face in Merbein.

Zelita Shepherd, 28, fronted the Mildura Magistrates' Court on Wednesday after spending 35 days in custody.

She pleaded guilty to five charges, and was told by Magistrate Patrick Southey that spitting in someone's face was a terrible form of assault.
