A MILDURA man who threatened to chop up his partner and bury her in a shallow grave before he was caught by police with a hunting knife near her residence has been jailed.

The Mildura Magistrates' Court heard the couple had a tumultuous relationship and he had previously been jailed for three months for offending against the same victim.
