A MILDURA man who caused "irreversible damage" to his family by bashing his sister at a barbecue has been jailed for six months.

The 20-year-old, who plead guilty to common law assault, indictable assault, wilful damage, threat to damage property, and assaulting an emergency worker, was sentenced in the Mildura Magistrates' Court on Friday.
