A MAN was fighting for his life in hospital following a collision between a car and B-double truck on the Calder Highway south of Mildura at the weekend.

The accident happened at Carwarp about 8.40pm on Saturday after the driver of a north-bound sedan struck and killed a kangaroo, then lost control of the vehicle before coming to a halt on the southbound lane of the highway.
