A YOUNG woman has been sentenced to 20 days' jail after abusing shop staff when they confronted her about stealing and damaging two Mildura homes.

Lylley Lawson pleaded guilty to multiple thefts and criminal damage when she faced Mildura Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Over a five-week period from July, the 18-year-old attempted thefts from stores including Kmart, Bunnings and a pharmacy.
