A FOURTEEN-year-old boy was so scared by family violence in his home he hid under a bed and called police, a court has been told.

A victim was left with scratch marks and a sore arm after her partner pushed her into a kitchen bench and grabbed her around the neck as the woman pleaded with him not to hurt her.

At the time of the assault, on April 28 this year, the teenager was in his room.
