A FIRST time family violence perpetrator spent a week behind bars, with a magistrate warning if he continued the behaviour, further jail was the only option.

The 30-year-old Mildura man pleaded guilty to offences including assault, wilful damage, failing to answer bail and breaching court imposed orders before the Mildura Magistrates' Court on Monday.
