P-plater hit 173km/h near Euston, say police

A P-PLATER will face court next month after being charged with driving dangerously and speeding near Euston.

Just after 6am on Tuesday, police were patrolling the Sturt Highway near Euston when they saw a ute travelling at about 173km/h and dangerously overtaking cars.

Traffic and highway patrol officers spoke with the 22-year-old driver a short time later in Robinvale.

The man was charged with driving at dangerous speed, not displaying P-plates and exceeding the speed limit by more than 44km/h.

His licence was suspended and he was issued a court attended notice to attend Wentworth Local Court on March 4.
