A P-PLATE driver's car was impounded on Saturday after travelling at more than 70km/h over the speed limit.

On Saturday night, highway patrol police detected the 22-year-old travelling at an alleged speed of 155km/h in an 80km/h zone on Gordon Avenue at Mildura South.
