COUNCILS across northern Victoria can apply to expand and renovate soccer facilities in the area following a funding boost from the Victorian Government.

Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp said applications had opened for the World Game Facilities Fund.

Mr Gepp said that with more than 350,000 participants statewide, soccer was booming, with women and girls signing up in record numbers.
