WHEN an "old gordo patch" started looking "well past its use-by date", Merbein growers Stephen and Malcom Bennett decided to plant a new business venture in its place.

Seven years later, the Bennett brothers are enjoying the sweet success of the dried fruit industry's new grape variety on the block -- Sunglo.
