SUNRAYSIA sporting legend Brian Weightman will be immortalised with the renaming of City Oval in his honour.

Council agreed unanimously this week to press ahead with re-naming of the oval to Brian Weightman Oval despite Geographic Names Victoria (GNV) deeming the change "non-compliant".
