MILDURA residents are encouraged to honour the service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice and fought for our freedom by supporting this year's Poppy Appeal.

From Monday, volunteers around the region will begin selling the much-loved red poppy with 100 per cent of the proceeds to support veterans and their families in need.
