Comedy show a hit with the kids at Langtree Mall

FUN, laughter and spontaneity were all aspects entertainer Nic Dacomb hoped children took away from his performances in Mildura on Monday.

After performing at the Patchewollock Music Festival on the weekend, Dacomb brought his Kids Comedy Show and Krazy Koala Puppet Show to the Mildura CBD.

"I grew up on a farm so I love to spread fun to rural areas," he said.

"Having fun and laughter is the most important things in life and it's important children experience that.

"I hope kids take away the feeling of having fun, being carefree and spontaneity."

Mildura City Heart manager Danielle Hobbs was pleased with the large turnout of children.

"It was good to see kids coming from so far away to join in, with children from Mallee Minors daycare in Ouyen attending," she said.

"In my role I am really keen to let people know this is a public space for everyone and bring people into the City Heart on days they might not have usually visited."

Mildura Council supported playgroups facilitator Liv Healy said the events were what Sunraysia residents needed.

"It gets the kids out of the house and it gets their parents to interact with them in a different way," she said.

"It is a great opportunity for them to build their fine motor skills, gross motor skills and concentration."

The entertainment coincided with Children's Week in Victoria, which celebrates the right of all children to be healthy, safe and happy.
