A RED Cliffs man has died after the car he was driving struck a tree and rolled at Kellalac, near Warracknabeal, Sunday morning.

A motorist driving past the crash site on the Warracknabeal- Stawell Road notified emergency services just before 5am.

Police believe the driver was travelling south towards Minyip when the vehicle left the road, struck a tree and rolled several times before coming to rest on the side of the road.

The male driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, died at the scene.

Mildura Superintendent John O'Connor said police were investigating the circumstances of the accident and would prepare an inquest brief for the coroner.
