Murray cod breeding program success

MORE than 100,000 Murray Cod have been bred in the past few weeks from 20 fish rescued from Menindee in the wake of devastating fish kills last summer.

The program, initiated by the NSW Government in preparation for what is expected to be another horror summer of fish deaths on the lower Darling River, will allow more than 2.5 million native fish to be bred at the Narrandera fish hatchery each year.
