Federal Government puts up $100 million for regional airports

REGIONAL airport owners and operators will be able to apply for a share in $100 million of funding for safety upgrades as part of the Federal Government's new Regional Airports Program.

Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack said the $100 million commitment over four years from 2019 would help owners of regional airports right across Australia deliver safer runways, taxiways and other safety upgrades such as new fencing or safety equipment.
