Darling River fish moved downstream

MORE than 350 Murray cod, silver and golden perch have been moved to the lower Darling River in the first week of a NSW Government program to try and lessen the effects of widespread fish kills as summer approaches.

NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) officers took the fish from Menindee and Pooncarie, relocating them to downstream to a more secure habitat expected to give them the best chance of surviving the predicted dry spring and summer ahead.
