LOCAL NEWS: Moorna Station has again changed hands, having been purchased by Mr H.A. Pegler from Mr Ben Chaffey. The sale is understood to have been on a “walk-in-walk-out basis” and Mr Pegler is to take possession on December 1. The property is a fine one and should be considerably enhanced in value when the weiring and locking and the Lake Victoria storage works are complete. Merbein now has a motor garage of its own. It is situated near the railway station and Mr. D.P. Crosbie is the proprietor. Motor cars means movement. Merbein is moving some. The Ladies’ GolfChampionship, completed last Wednesday, was won by Miss Eileen Pegler with 90-92-182, Miss Marjorie Shilliday being runner-up with 90-95-185.
