Menindee resident: Time to act before summer fish kills

FRUSTRATED by a lack of funding, policy change or action on the lower Darling River, Menindee resident Graeme McCrabb has devised a six-point strategy he hopes can be adopted to help minimise the impact of a looming fish-kill disaster this summer.

Mr McCrabb, a Menindee water users' group committee member, last month called for the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) to introduce a three-month ban on all recreational fishing on the lower Darling during the Murray cod closed season from September to December.
