THREE Red Cliffs Fire Brigade volunteers have been in training for the annual Firefighter Stair Climb, but say nothing can prepare them for the 28 flights of stairs waiting for them at Melbourne's Crown Metropol Hotel.

Dressed in 25kg of breathing apparatus, Red Cliffs' Mitchell Shaw, Tom Searle and David Thomas will take on the Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb on September 7.
