WENTWORTH residents face a 530km round trip to take advantage of NSW’s 10c refund scheme – despite being asked to pay more for their bottles and cans.

The scheme rolls out across the state today, but a local collection site was yet to be finalised, leaving Broken Hill as the nearest drop-off point.

The NSW Government has appointed contractor Tomra Cleanaway to operate the recycling network.
