EMERGENCY services were called to an industrial fire at a waste management facility on Beasley Drive at Koorlong on Wednesday.

Fire crews were first alerted just before 10am, when workers discovered two large piles of compost smouldering, with smoke from the fires visible from nearby roads and communities.

A bulldozer was also called in to help contain the issue.
