MILDURA Base Public Hospital is among five regional health centres set to receive a patient support unit, with the aim of helping people with planned, elective surgeries from the time of referral until the day the procedure.

The announcement from the State Government coincided with data showing Victoria's health system delivered the most planned surgeries in public hospitals on record.
