A MILDURA woman says a recent visit to Mildura sister city Upland, California, felt like "a home away from home".

Currently staying on the Gold Coast, Jodie Alderton and daughter Tajska recently enjoyed a "whirlwind" trip to the US where she said a stopover in Upland was the "highlight" of the three-week journey surrounded by familiar names such as Deakin Avenue, Chaffey College and Ontario.
