A MAN displayed "monstrous" behaviour that left a woman cowering on the ground over her apparent inability to conceive children, a court has been told.

The Mildura Magistrates' Court heard the pair had been at a Mildura address on June 26 this year having dinner and drinks about 11pm when they began arguing about the victim's inability to conceive.
