SUNRAYSIA Animal Rehousing Group has been awarded more than $97,000 from the Victorian Government's Animal Welfare Grants Fund for a project aimed at reducing pet abandonment.

The money is intended to expand services or set up clinics across the state and SARG will use it to launch a free animal local desexing program.
