DURING National Burns Awareness month authorities are warning that kitchen-related fires are on the increase with more than 900 recorded across Victoria in less than 12 months.

From May 2024 to March 2025 Fire Rescue Victoria reported attending 750 residential fires that started in the kitchen, while the Country Fire Authority volunteers responded to 219 of the same typ
