SWAN Hill Rural City Council has touted the "largest capital works program ever undertaken" in the shire after adopting their 2025-26 budget.

Of the $42.1 million capital works program, $22.4m are new works with the rest being carried over from last year's budget.

Over $26m of council cash is bolstered by $15.7m in external funding.
