A FORMER teacher at the St Joseph's and Sacred Heart primary schools turned 100 years old on Tuesday.

Evelyn Smith was born in 1925 in St Arnaud and grew up on farming land cleared by pioneers including her father, later moving to Walpeup, then Pirlta.
