MILDURA police have urged motorists not to be complacent during the "risky" King's Birthday long-weekend as the number of lives lost on Victorian roads surges to a 16-year high.

Local police will again be involved in Operation Regal, a statewide road policing operation which will run for four days over the King’s Birthday long weekend, from Friday to Monday inclusive.
