A MAN who came to Australia in the hope of a better life is now behind bars on property damage, multiple counts of theft and other matters.

The Mildura Magistrates' Court heard Ajit Kunwar arrived in Australia from Nepal in 2017 and spent the first six years as a law-abiding citizen before his life went "completely off the rails".
