A MAGISTRATE has acknowledged he faced a "difficult situation" in sentencing a homeless man who stole goods from multiple stores to support himself.

The Mildura Magistrates' Court heard Trevor Graham Grembecki had suffered mental and physical health issues and the common denominator in his multiple charges to which he pleaded guilty this week was the fact that he was homeless.
