A LIGHT haze of smoke that's covered the region the past couple of days has been softening the sun's usual golden glow into an orange hue in the mornings.

The smoke, which has at times continued to linger across the sky, is the result from bushfires burning in western Victoria, including a large blaze in Little Desert National Park.
