A MILDURA man accused of raping a woman following a "horrific" physical attack claimed she propositioned him for consensual sex after "demanding" that he assault her, a court has been told.

The Mildura Magistrates' Court heard the man brutally assaulted the woman and took photographs of her during the attack including while she was cowering naked in the shower recess with injuries to her face.
